This behavioral and rehabilitation hospital is integrated into a larger medical center as a new addition, although the design still includes a new front door and distinct identity for each service line. One of the main design features is the outdoor areas designed as healing environments to improve the patient experience. The 81,800 SF facility offers inpatient, outpatient, and emergency mental health services for adolescents and adults, including 80 behavioral health beds (24 geriatric beds and 56 adult beds). The behavioral health patient rooms are semi-private, and the floor is divided into four nursing units with clinical support spaces. A dedicated dining and servery is provided for patient use and can be divided into separate areas for activities and events as needed. Two secure outdoor courtyards are also available for supervised patient therapy and activities. Additionally, the facility includes 20 acute rehabilitation inpatient beds and clinical support services.
